How to Make the Best Shahi Paneer Recipe at Home: A Step-by-Step Guide .

 Shahi Paneer is a popular North Indian meal that combines paneer (cottage   cheese) with a creamy, fragrant sauce. It is ideal for special events and can be  served with naan, roti, or rice. This meal exemplifies the rich and  royal Mughlai cuisine that has been  passed down through generations.



Method:

To make Shahi Paneer, you will need the following ingredients:

• 200g paneer (cottage cheese)

• 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)

• 1 bay leaf (tej patta)

• 1 inch cinnamon stick (dalchini)

• 3-4 green cardamom (choti elaichi)

• 3-4 cloves (laung)

• 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped

• 1 tsp ginger paste

• 1 tsp garlic paste

• 2 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped

• 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)

• 1 tsp red chili powder (lal mirch)

• 1 tsp coriander powder (dhaniya powder)

• 1/2 tsp cumin powder (jeera powder)

• 1/2 cup fresh cream

• 1 tsp sugar

• Salt to taste

• 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves (dhaniya patti) for garnishing.

How To Make Shahi Paneer recipe:

Now, let's move on to the method of preparation:

• Cut the paneer into small cubes and keep it aside.

• Heat ghee in a pan and add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, green cardamom, and cloves. Fry for a few seconds till the spices release their aroma.

• Add finely chopped onion and sauté till it turns golden brown.

• Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.

• Add finely chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt to taste. Mix well and cook till the tomatoes become soft and pulpy.

• Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down for a few minutes.

• Once the mixture is cool, transfer it to a blender and blend to a smooth paste.

• Pour the blended mixture back into the pan and add fresh cream, sugar, and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

• Add paneer cubes and cook for another 3-4 minutes till the paneer is coated well with the gravy.

• Turn off the heat and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
